This is the last Will and testament of me William CARTWRIGHT of Broughton Astley in the county of Leicester farmer and grazier
I appoint my dear wife Letitia CARTWRIGHT and John SNAITH of the town of Leicester gentleman and Amos ABELL of Stanton in the county of Leicester farmer and grazier the executors and trustees of this my Will.
I derect my said executors to pay off any just debts, funseral and testanenrary expenses ass soon as conviently may be after my decease
I give and bequeath all my household goods furniture implements books debts and other debts that may be due and owing to me at the time of my decease unto and to the use of my said wife Leitiia CARTWRIGHT for her sole use and benefit absolutely.
I give devise and bequeath all my real estate whatsoever and wheresoever that I may die possessed of unto my said wife for and during the term of her natural life and from and after her decease I give and devise the same unto and to the use of the said John SNAITH and Amos ABELLupon the trust following (that is to say)
Upon trust that they shall as soon as conveniently may be after the decease of my said wife at their discretion sell and absolutely dispose of the same and shall stand possessed of the proceeds arising from such sale or sales and conversion and getting in of my said real estate in trust for my five children namely, Thomas CARTWRIGHT, Mary Ann CARTWRIGHT, Annie Bridget CARTWRIGHT, Elizabeth CARTWRIGHT, and Letitia CARTWRIGHT to be equally divided between and amongst them share and share alike and in case either of my said children shall die before such sale and distribution of my said real estate leaving issue thenI direct that such issue shall take such share or shares as his her or their parent would, if living have taken under this my Will.
